Geophysical Survey
Surveys are routinely undertaken using the two main archaeogeophysical techniques - magnetic gradiometry (using a Bartington grad 601 dual) and ground resistivity (using a Geoscan RM15 system). Surveys are controlled using a Trimble survey grade RTK GPS system or EDMs.
Large surveys
Larger projects are typically undertaken in concert with other organisations. Projects have included several large solar farms and have ranged in size up to the 400 ha survey for the Defence Technical Academy and Aerospace Park at RAF St Athan.
Community projects
The use of geophysics in community projects, including local groups, schools, museums and university outreach projects, has been a speciality at GeoArch over many years.
