My thanks go out to the many people who have helped Aaron Petersen and myself during the campaigns:

Many members of staff at AWC/MWL have gone out of their way to support our efforts. Many of the staff & craftsmen have contributed their skills and time to solving our technical problems. Especial thanks go to Bethan Jones, Dai Price, Ian Smith, Peter Mason, Andrew Murphy Ray Smith and Toby Petersen, and in particular to Ken Brassil, whose enthusiasm got the whole project off the drawing board.

1998

Jane Theophilus & Helen Yearsley contributed a great deal of time and effort during their projects/placements in St Fagans during construction of the facility in summer 1998. Thanks to the Cardiff University archaeology students who joined in when the work really got hard: Kurt Adams, Dave Brewer, Gwil Dawe, Dave Hail,Kirsty Harding (&Harriet!), Jen Hesford, Caroline Johnson and Susie Reeve for their efforts during the summer vacation 1998, and to all members of the Cardiff University Archaeological Society who helped under atrocious weather conditions in the autumn of 1998. The Manager and Staff of ARC Drybrook gave assistance in obtaining our Forest of Dean ore stock. Pughs Garden Centre sponsored our contribution to National Archaeology Days 1998 with the provision of charcoal. Gary Thomas also contributed enormously, both on site and subsequently during the slag analysis.

The smelting team for Science Week 1999 included Kurt Adams, Jim Brown, Gwil Dawe, Kate Deering, Dani Hofmann, Caroline Johnson, Carl Lee, Susie Reeve and Steve Thomson, many of whom also helped out later in the season.

2003

Thanks to Ed and Chris for assistance during Science Week 2003. The assistance of Gary & Raphaella Fieldhouse of Body Canvas in setting up the electric blower for smelt 23 was of enormous help. Sally and Aisling Tuohy did sterling work in handling and generating interest among the school visits and members of the public alike.

During the autumn Gareth Riseborough and Andrew Murphy assisted with smelt25.

2004

The Science Week 2004 events involved Andrew Murphy, Gareth Riseborough, Grant Lock and Robin Maggs assisting myself and Aaron over the three days including smelts 26 and 27.
